Start When You're Ready (but You're Ready Now)
Isn't it annoying when people say things like this?
Is it annoying because you know it's true? Isn't that the worst kind of annoying? ;)
There are so many reasons for not being ready. Not ready to make the change, take the class, set the alarm, make the phone call, press submit, click publish.
Those are your reasons. They are personal. Sometimes deeply personal. And they feel so real and so important. But you made them up. Even if it's something someone else told you or something you read about, you decided to make it your reason.
So, what if you make some new reasons?
What kind of person would be ready to start? Why would they be ready?
You think about it, you dream about, in your most confident moments you can feel it. Who is that person and what are her reasons?
The best reason, is always when it feels right. When you don't need to consult a friend, you just know.
If you've dreamed of starting, but reasons changed your mind, it might be time to find some new ones.
PS I also wrote about this cool TED talk about reasons (and difficult decisions) here.
